They always wanted photos before they went down, the old prospector mused. Twenty years running crews down from Lunar Gateway 3, and they were all the same: young, energetic, thrilled.
Some came once, did their thing for fun or profit, and never came back. They had checked the box marked "Moon" on their life list and were free to move on to other things.
Some, like "the three doctors" (his nickname), came back every year to check their equipment and add or remove electronics. And dang if they still wanted a pre-landing picture every time.
The old prospector had to admit it was fun soaking up the excitement from his clients. So he smiled, sorta, when the imager AI said "Smile please."
