For such a tiny asteroid, it had way too much gravity, almost as much as Earth's moon.
It was certainly full of exotic stuff; maybe it was a shard from a collapsed star or a busted planetary core. Debate had raged for years, and answers just spawned more questions.
Maybe it was dark matter, finally seen up close for the first time. Whatever it was, it had defied easy analysis. Even a small scoop was more massive than a house.
Dr. Hanssen liked to visit when she could, hoping this time she might find the inspiration to finally understand it all.
Insight never came, but the view was nice. Even a bad day loping on an exotic asteroid was better than a good day at the office.
