Durakhshan Turtughi is a Rocket Team astrobiologist. She studies the possibility of alien life. She is the leader of the Afghani expedition to Jupiter's ocean moon Europa.
She is checking the ice shell thickness - which is usually 10 to 15 miles (15 to 25 kilometers) thick - for a thinner spot for drilling.
Under all that ice, a huge, deep ocean is waiting to be explored. Is it alive with alien fish? She needs to drill down to get a probe into that vast ocean.
Even though Europa is only one-fourth the diameter of Earth - about the size of our Moon - its ocean may hold twice as much water as all of Earth’s oceans combined!
What kind of alien life do you think is in Europa's ocean? Mail me at
