Rocket Team astronauts have to stay sharp on new developments in spaceflight. Recently, Pip and I attended a NASA webinar called "Explore Flight: Pressure Suits."
It had lots of great information about the history of spacesuits and the new directions engineers are heading with spacesuits.
When we were done, Pip showed me a photo he took on our last spacewalk (hint: we astronauts call a spacewalk an "EVA" for Extravehicular Activity).
The photo shows my boots, and he asked "I understand you need boots to walk and explore the moon and Mars. But why do you need boots on your EVA spacesuit? You're not really going to walk anywhere in deep space."
So, I said, "I don't know, but I wish I could wear a boot on my head."
Pip asked, "On your head? Why?"
I said, "Because then I'd be a foot taller!"
