Moon Trees

There are trees scattered around the country that were grown from seeds that traveled to the moon.

In 1971, Apollo 14 command module pilot Stuart Roosa took hundreds of seeds to the moon.  They were tucked inside his personal kit.

During the next few years, Roosa's saplings were planted all over the United States; some were planted as part of the U.S. bicentennial celebrations in 1976.
