Freddo!

I mentioned before that Mickey Kulp, the guy who writes about the Rocket Team, got to meet Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise recently.

Well, Mick sent me a photo to "prove" it happened (Ha!).  He's a little over the moon about meeting this American legend, saying:

"There were lots of students there to see Fred too.  He was a great speaker and all-around decent fellow.  He also flew the very first space shuttle test flight off the back of a 747. He said it was a stressful test since a mistake might have cancelled the whole program.  Image that!  What would the world have been like without a space shuttle?"
