Active Asteroids

 

I only recently learned that there are strange objects called "active asteroids" in the solar system.

They are basically asteroids with comet-like activity such as tails.

I joined a project to help astronomers find more active asteroids out of a data set of 10 million!  They need your assistance too.

This will help us know how much water was delivered to Earth after it formed, and where that water originated.

It also helps Rocket Team engineers find more practical, inexpensive, and environmentally responsible sources of fuel, air, and water.

And even some miners might benefit from knowing if an active asteroid has valuable minerals that are rare on Earth.
