But we don't call it a "spacewalk." We call it an "EVA," which stands for Extravehicular Activity. And that just means we are going outside our vehicle or base.
Whew! It's like a vocabulary lesson today!
Anyway, Viktor Vanson (we call him Veevee) is our EVA coach. He's hugely cool, and he's got over 160 hours logged in a spacesuit. He has done work outside almost every Rocket Team base and orbital station. He still hasn't made it out to Mercury Base, but it's on his list.
Last week, he took three of us students about ten miles away from Lunar Gateway 3. We practiced navigating back with a simulated failure in our radar equipment. I made it back, but I had to use more gas in my suit thrusters than the other two. They called me "gassy" all day after that. Geez.
