Mickey Kulp, author/illustrator of the Rocket Team series, sent me an inspirational message from a non-profit organization called For All Moonkind.
Mick is creating a space art book, and he showed them one of his images about Apollo 17's landing site. They liked it and wanted to share a message with aspiring astronauts...
"History shows us time and time again that the impossible is indeed possible. When you look back at our collective past, you see just how remarkable human beings are. We learned how to walk upright, how to harness fire, how to build boats -- and airplanes, and then spaceships.
The first bootprint on the Moon may have been planted by one human being, but that 'small step' could not have happened without the hard work of the 400,000 individuals involved in the Apollo program -- and the hundred and thousands of individuals throughout history who studied the skies and dreamed of reaching the heavens. History shows us that dreams can come true - if you work hard and never give up.
At For All Moonkind, we are working to protect our first steps on the Moon to forever remind us how far we have come and how amazing we can be. But more important, we want you to see them and be inspired to reach heights never before even imagined. History reminds us there is no limit to how far we can go. It's up to you to dream big."
These kinds of images will be included in Mick's upcoming book.
