Outpost Piazzi

Last summer, I had a short internship at Outpost Piazzi, a small station orbiting the cold dwarf planet Ceres. I did some construction work on their radio dishes.

Ceres is a peculiar place. It sits in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, and it's the only dwarf planet in the inner solar system (and the only one Pip and I have ever visited).

It was discovered by Giuseppe Piazzi in 1801, and the Rocket Team named the outpost after him.

Ceres is big, but even tiny Pluto is still 14 times more massive. And Ceres' gravity is super low. If you weighed 100 pounds on Earth, you would weigh about three pounds on Ceres!

If you weighed three pounds, how high could you jump? Tell me about it at
