ISS Spacewalk!

On August 21, I watched parts of the spacewalk at the International Space Station (ISS). US astronauts Nick Hague and Andrew Morgan worked for over five hours in space.

The spacewalk is called an Extravehicular Activity (EVA) by NASA folks.  The EVA's purpose was to install a special airlock that will allow spaceships like the SpaceX Crew Dragon and Boeing Starliner to bring astronauts to the station.

ISS has a sunrise and sunset about every 92 minutes.
The work goes on, even in the dark.







The astronauts had to unstrap a cover on the airlock (the white part on the
bottom of the screen.  They had to put several wire ties into their  trash bags to
prevent debris from escaping and possibly damaging another satellite.
