Green Propellant Infusion Mission (GPIM)

Spaceships need to move around in airless space by releasing puffs of gas. Currently, most spaceships use a dangerous chemical called hydrazine.

The GPIM project aims to replace hydrazine with a safe chemical called Hydroxyl Ammonium Nitrate.

This safe chemical gives space crews lots of advantages. The new propellant is thicker than hydrazine, so more of it can be stored in a container. It also delivers a stronger push of thrust and has a lower freezing point.

Even better, a green chemical is easier for ground crews who prepare spaceships for launch.  This improves the speed and reliability of ground operations.

I wonder if I can use this new system in my jetpack? Maybe Pip and I can change out the plumbing and give it a spin.
